Brigit Jager
After an initial career in the Dutch foreign service, Brigit became a professional member of PADI in 1989, gaining considerable experience in the Maldives and Indonesia before joining the new PADI Asia Pacific Regional Headquarters in Sydney Australia in 1999 as the first new Educational Consultant, helping establish the Training & Quality Management Department. Brigit became a PADI Course Director in 2000 and a PADI Instructor Examiner / EFR Master in 2001.
From 2016 Brigit supported PADI Members (individuals and dive operators) in QLD/NT Australia, PNG and the Pacific Island countries. Her special expertise during her 20+ years as PADI Staff, was in supporting EFR, PADI RTO and French speaking PADI Members throughout Asia Pacific. She was awarded as a member of the PADI President’s Club and PADI’s Wall of Honour. Brigit retired as a full time PADI Staff member mid-2020.
While Brigit nowadays teaches workplace-recognised first aid courses, her greatest passion still lies in protecting our oceans and marine life through education, citizen science, volunteering, promoting and creating awareness for the ‘war against waste’.
Throughout her 35 years as a PADI Pro, Brigit always was and still is a strong advocate of the PADI AWARE Foundation to help empower people and communities to take local actions for global impact; she has organised numerous underwater cleanups, dives against debris, adopted local dive sites, and trained people about responsible clean up diving techniques – to name just a few of her many actions.
Brigit realised her #1 dream trip (to dive in Antarctica) in February 2022 and is excited to now also join the BIG ACE in 2025. Brigit speaks Dutch, English and French fluently, and can converse in German and Bahasa Indonesia.
