Denise Holland
Denise Holland is an independent Field and Logistical Co-coordinator for David Holland’s research team at New York University (NYU) in New York City. She has been organizing and participating in Greenland expeditions for two decades at east and west coast locations. For the last decade, Denise has organized a summer field school for NYU undergraduate and graduate students, providing students the opportunity to learn about the operation of scientific instrumentation to observe the natural polar environment. She plays a principal role in the operation of the Environmental Fluid Dynamics Laboratory (EFDL) in New York, which is used for teaching students the basic physical principles of the mechanisms by which the earth’s atmosphere, ocean, and ice operate.

Holding both a Business degree from Memorial University of Newfoundland and a French degree from McGill University, she has recently completed an undergraduate degree in Art History from NYU. She has been a co-author of two dozen peer-reviewed scientific publications. She was elected a Fellow of The Explorers Club in 2023.
