Janel is a branding communications veteran with over 20 years of experience at top agencies like Ogilvy, Publicis, and BBH. Based primarily in Singapore and Shanghai, she has led local, regional, and global campaigns for diverse blue-chip and local B2B and B2C brands, earning awards for work on Nike, DHL, and Sprite, among others. Currently, Janel is the Managing Partner at Select Holding, a Travel Trade Consulting, Marketing and Representation firm, and founder of plusblue.world, a creative consultancy.
Beyond her professional roles, Janel is deeply involved in the dive travel tourism industry as a leader/agent and instructor. Her passion for the ocean extends to ocean conservation and sustainability as VP of Communications at Ocean Geographic (Australia), Board Member of Deep Hope (USA), and founder of Blue Earth (Singapore). Janel was born in Canada, raised in Singapore, resided in Shanghai in the recent 16 years, and now shuttles between Shanghai, Singapore, and other destinations where work and diving takes her.
