Lori Jalens Sternheim
I am a daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother, and a practicing physician.

I have been practicing Diagnostic Radiology and Nuclear Medicine in South Florida for almost 40 years.  After graduating college and medical school in upstate New York, my soon -to-be husband and I moved away from the snow and cold weather in New York State to the warmth of sunny South Florida.  We never looked back.

We have seen the changes to the climate firsthand in our home state.  The summers are getting hotter, the hurricanes are becoming more frequent and stronger, and beach erosion is an ongoing issue.  At the same time, our children, who now live in the New York City area, are experiencing a very different climate than we did growing up in that region.

As my professional career starts to wind down, I find myself with more time to consider what I can do to make sure that my grandchildren have a healthy planet to inherit.  Hopefully this expedition will be a good start.
